The Speaker, Nasarawa House of Assembly, Mr. Ibrahim Abdullahi, has urged the Nasarawa State Independent Electoral Commission (NASIEC) to ensure early distribution of electoral materials, ahead of the Oct. 6 Local Government (LG) elections in the state.
Abdullahi made the call on Monday while speaking with newsmen in Toto in Toto Local Government Area (LGA).
The speaker also called for strict adherence to the rule of law and peaceful conduct by citizens, as they go out to elect leaders at the third tier of government.
He said that the LG elections were significant in a democratic set up as it would enhance grassroots development.
He said there was the need for the people to conduct themselves orderly to ensure the success of the exercise and for the benefit of all.
The state number three citizen also called on the NASIEC to ensure the general success of the exercise, for the overall development of the state.
He called on the people to support the electoral body to succeed.
The speaker called on all APC supporters to come out massively and vote for their candidates to ensure their victory.
“I want to use this medium to call on our supporters to come out en mass and vote all the candidates of our party, come Oct.6.
“This is to ensure their victory at the poll,” he said. (NAN)
