ARMSTRONG ALLAHMAGANI, Bauchi
Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State, has warned traditional leaders in the state to stop compromising with criminals in the state, while vowing that he would not spare anybody found wanting.
The governor also accused the federal political appointees from the state who he described as “Abuja politicians” saying that they have nothing to offer other than hatred, treachery and plans to pull him down.
While lamenting that most of the problems emnate from the traditional institutions, Governor Mohamurged, urged the Local Government Councils to meet always with all stakeholders particularly the traditional rulers and must send reports of their meetings.
“Some of the members of the traditional institutions are compromising allowing strange people with criminal backgrounds just because of small peanuts that they will get.
“We will not spare anybody even though I am a member of the traditional institution. If anybody is found wanting, we will discipline him because we will not allow people to bring the traditional institution to compromise and bring people that will make our lives and properties compromised,” he warned.
The governor said that from security reports at his disposal, these Abuja politicians are the ones bringing in criminals into the state to perpetrate crime and make the people have sleepless nights.
He was speaking while distributing cash and starter packs worth N75 million to 75 selected people in Darazo, town in Darazo local government area of the state on Tuesday.
He said that he knows those who are behind kidnapping, criminality noting that it is not that he cannot stop them if he wants to.
Mohammed vowed that his administration will soon fish them out and make them face the law because he is not afraid of them.
He said that his administration was spending so much resources to keep the state safe and secure including the provision of vehicles, allowances to security agencies as well as helping the Local Government Councils in the state.
