Troops of Operation Hadin Kai Joint Task Force (JTF) in operation at Sambisa Forest around Dikwa axis of 81 Task Force Battalion Dikwa Command have rescued another abducted Chibok School girls, named Mary Nkeki.
The 27-year old, who hailed from Bura area of Chibok Local Government Area of Borno State and ibako by tribe, Maryam was rescued by the troops in the bush while on operation at the periphery of Dikwa-Gamboru- Kala axis along with other Boko Haram members who voluntary surrendered to the troops.
The Theater Commander, Operation Hadin Kai, Major General Gold Chibuisi, disclosed this on Monday at a press briefing with journalists in Maiduguri Monday said
Maj. Gen..Chbuisi said the girl has undergone series of medical treatments as well as other investigations and found to be fit and ready for rehabilitation by the state government before subsequently handing over the girl to her parents and relations.
He said,” One of the mandated tasks of our operations in the north east is to end terrorism or rescue, abducted victims and restore peace in the.tegion. There have been evidences of successes recently. These results are even evidence in the rescue of about 16 Chibok girls recently, ”
“Troops of Operation HADIN KAI in Borno have been successful towards achieving our mandate and we have continued to apply both kinetic and non kinetic strategies with positive results in line with international best practices.
“We will continue to discharge our constitutional duties professionally, as we continue to work assiduously to restore absolute peace and restore normalcy to the northeast,,” Chibuisi said.
He assured the commitment and determination of the Nigerian military to crush all the remnants insurgents in their hideouts , especially those who refused to surrender while explaining that the doors are opened for any Boko Haram member that wants to voluntarily surrender.
The Theater Commander expressed gratitude to the government and people of the state as well as north east region in supporting the Nigerian military to restore peace in the region, stressing that, the Nigerian military will not relent in its efforts to rid the region and country at large of insurgents and miscreants .
General Chibuisi further thanked the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and service chiefs for their support and encouragement to the theater command in the counter insurgency operations..
