2 security guards in court for allegedly stealing 10 laptops

Carpenter in court for unlawfully restraining 11-year-old girl

Two security guards, Jesse Igbagbo, 24, and Taofeek Raimi, 38, on Wednesday appeared in Chief Magistrates’ Court in Tinubu, Lagos, for allegedly stealing 10 laptops worth N1.8million.

The police charged Igbagbo and Raimi with conspiracy and theft.

The Prosecution Counsel, ASP Ben Ekundayo, told the court that the defendants committed the offence on Dec. 16, 2020, between 1a.m. and 3a.m., at Clina-Lancent Laboratory at II Babatunde Ajose, Victoria Island, Lagos.

He alleged that the defendants, who are security guards at Clina-Lancent Laboratory, stole laptops worth N1.8million belonging to the laboratory.

The offence, he said, contravened the provisions of sections 287 (7) and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

Magistrate A.A. Paul admitted the defendants to bail in the sum of N200, 000 each with one surety each in like sum.

He adjourned the case until Jan. 28 for mention. (NAN)
