The victims regained their freedom on Wednesday after a coordinated rescue operation at Amakohia Ubi Village in Owerri West Local Government Area of the state.
One other abducted victim was also rescued during the operation.
The rescued victims were immediately taken to the Department of State Services (DSS) Hospital in Owerri for medical examination and treatment.
The Director-General of the NYSC, Brigadier General Olakunle Oluseye Nafiu, visited the victims at the hospital alongside the Imo State Commissioner of Police, the DSS Director and the Commander of the 34 Artillery Brigade.
In a statement, Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Ani Iniedu, said, “Efforts are ongoing to apprehend those responsible for the abduction, as the Police and other security agencies sustain coordinated operations towards bringing all culpable persons to justice.”
