The Och’ Idoma, HRM Agabaidu Elaigwu Odogbo John with some traditional rulers in Idoma Kingdom have described the death of Tor Jechira, HRH Clement Kparevfa Uganden as a monumental loss not only to Tiv Kingdom alone but the Idoma Kingdom and Benue at large.
A statement by the Special Assistant to Tor Tiv on Media and ICT Freddie Adamgbe said the Och’: Idoma said this during a condolence visit on the Tor Tiv Orcivirigh Prof James Ortese Iorzua Ayatse in his palace in Gboko.
The Och’ Idoma according to the statement asserted that the late Tor Jechira was a man of character who was friendly and accommodating and submitted his entire life to service to humanity and shall forever be missed by all.
HRH Engr George Edge, the Och Enone in his remarks noted that the entire Tiv nation was in a solemn mood and so it was natural for their Idoma brother to come and share in their grief hence the visit to the palace .
Responding, Orcivirigh Ayatse expressed joy on visit describing it as indeed consoling and lamented that though death is inevitable he never expected the Tor Jechira to die at this time his useful contributions towards the peace and unity of the kingdom is highly needed.
The paramount ruler of the Tiv nation lauded the brotherly display of mutual solidarity exhibited by the Idoma traditional rulers in sharing together the pains of Tiv people and urged them to sustain the gesture.
On the entourage of the Och Idoma were HRH Engr George Edge, the (First Class Chief) O’ch Enone, HRH Dr Chris Ijale (Second Class Chief) Adiutu Obi, HRH Engr Joseph Echobu (Third Class Chief) Okpoga/Ichama and HRH Alhaji Zakari Shaibu (Third Class Chief) Ohimini East.
