Military honours for late Col. Adetokunbo Ojomo in Ibadan, Oyo State's capital
In a solemn and emotionally charged atmosphere, the remains of late Colonel Adetokunbo Olorunfemi Ojomo was committed to the mother earth on 11 September 2026, at All Saint Church Cemetery Jericho-Ibadan, Oyo state.
The General Officer Commanding (GOC), 2 Division, Nigerian Army (NA), Major General Auwalu Mahmuda, while reading the funeral oration paid tribute to the late senior officer for his service to the NA and humanity. He described the late senior officer as a disciplined, dedicated and professional officer who contributed significantly to the NA during his years of service.
The GOC, who was represented by the Commander, 42 Engineer Brigade, Brigadier General Uche Okoroji recalled the late senior officer’s commitment to duty and leadership, noting that his departure was a great loss to his family, friends, military community and the entire nation.
While at the graveside, Lieutenant (Rev) Amos Unenge offered prayers for the peaceful repose of his soul. It was followed by the last post sounded as a mark of respect, with prescribed military honours and final salute. After which, the remains was lowered to the grave with full military honours,
The burial ceremony had family members, friends and colleagues stood in solemn reflection as the final honours were rendered to the departed senior officer. His remains was lowered to the mother earth in a solemn and emotionally charged moment.
