Manchester United fans have taken their long-running opposition to the club’s ownership beyond Old Trafford, targeting sponsors and commercial partners in a new online push.
Tagged #BoycottUnited, the campaign gained traction between Tuesday and Wednesday, with supporters urging fellow fans to contact companies linked to the club through reviews, emails and comments on social media.
A graphic circulating online names four groups of targets: official club sponsors, official merchandise partners, companies owned by Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s INEOS and businesses associated with the Glazer family.
Among those listed are front-of-shirt sponsor Snapdragon, Adidas, DHL and Coca-Cola.
The move marks a shift in tactics for supporters who have staged protests against the Glazers since their takeover of United in 2005.
According to the Manchester Evening News, some fan groups now believe commercial partners provide another route to put pressure on those controlling the club, particularly after United’s difficult start to the 2026/27 season and frustrations over the summer transfer window.
Snapdragon, whose agreement with United is reportedly worth about £60 million per season, is one of the campaign’s main targets.
However, claims circulating online that Snapdragon is preparing for an emergency meeting or that Adidas is considering walking away from the club have not been confirmed by either company.
For now, #BoycottUnited is an online supporter action aimed at making United’s commercial relationships part of the wider dispute over the club’s ownership and direction.
