CEFN General Overseer, Rev. Dr. Malachai Ogakwu
General Overseer of Christian Evangelical Fellowship of Nations (CEFN), Rev. Dr. Malachai Ogakwu, has urged Christians to use every opportunity and blessing God gives them to fulfil His purpose on earth rather than pursuing personal gain.
Speaking during the 2026 Annual International Convention of CEFN at the church’s headquarters in Anyingba, Kogi State, the cleric said the theme, “The Open Door That No Man Can Shut,” reminds believers that every blessing comes from God and should be used to reveal His glory to the world.
He challenged Christians to examine the purpose behind every opportunity they receive, saying God opens doors so His name can be known through His children.
“When doors begin to open for you, the first question that should ordinarily cross your mind be why do God open these doors to me.”
Rev. Dr. Ogakwu said believers are created to carry out good works that reflect God’s love wherever they find themselves.
“You are created in Christ for good works. To manifest God’s purposes. Therefore, wherever you find yourselves, is for you to do the good works endowed in you by God so that people will see the goodness of our God.”
He lamented that many Christians have become unwilling to sacrifice for God despite the blessings they have received, warning that such attitudes make it difficult to fulfil God’s purpose.
The cleric encouraged Christians to understand why they have been called, stressing that every profession provides an opportunity to serve God and humanity.
“As a teacher, Doctor, Nurse, an Administrator, Pastor, Mechanic, Engineer or whatever profession you are into, you should genuinely ask yourselves if you are you truly fulfilling God’s purpose with the profession.”
He reminded believers that everyone would one day give an account of their stewardship before God.
“Don’t say because you are a messanger, you don’t matter, you will give account of your works. Every human being will give account of their stewardship.”
Speaking further, Rev. Dr. Ogakwu said God opens doors to demonstrate His faithfulness through His people but regretted that some believers misuse such opportunities.
“In that office, in that position you occupy, what will be the testimony of people around you? God will want to come inn to work through you when doors are open to you. But the question is how many times have you pushed people away from God despite God opens door to you for His name to be known.”
He added that God entrusts people with positions of influence so they can become faithful stewards and instruments for accomplishing His purpose on earth.
The CEFN General Overseer also warned that every open door would attract opposition, listing fear, discouragement, human resistance, spiritual battles, limited resources and delays as common challenges believers must overcome.
He cautioned Christians against allowing themselves to become tools in the hands of the devil.
“If you make yourself available, Satan will use you to falsely label men of God, thereby you stand against the progress of God.”
Rev. Dr. Ogakwu, however, encouraged believers not to lose hope during difficult seasons, explaining that God sometimes allows delays to prepare His children for greater assignments.
“But the good news is that, sometimes, certain delays in your life is for good as God is using that to package the end result for greatness in you. During the period of delay, God will be preparing you for a reason amongst which include to take away pride of self glory from you.”
He concluded by urging Christians to strengthen their faith, remain obedient to God’s word, cultivate patience and humility, and prepare themselves to sustain every open door God places before them.
