Gombe State Government is slated to host the rice festival in the North-East Zone where its rice pyramid would be unveiled.
The state, which is at the forefront in rice production in the northeast is justifying the success of the current administration’s agricultural revolution in Gombe State and Nigeria at large.
The State Commissioner for Agriculture and Animal Husbandry, Hon. Muhammad Magaji Gettado accompanied by his Directors, national and state officials of Rice Farmers Association of Nigeria, RIFAN and those of Central Bank of Nigeria visited the trailer park where RIFAN has aggregated all the recovered rice from farmers who have benefited from the anchor borrowers’ programme across the North East.

Already eleven large rice pyramids have been aggregated with over three hundred thousand bags of paddy rice so far and still counting. These pyramids are expected to be unveiled soon.
Gombe state has keyed into the current efforts championed by the CBN through the Anchor Borrowers’ Programme to galvanise agricultural production and achieve food sufficiency towards meeting the requirements of Nigeria’s growing population.
Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has always emphasized that the agricultural transformation drive of his administration is geared towards harnessing the vast potentials in the sector.
