The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Monday said it has registered 214 new cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19), bringing the total number of infections in the country to 162,082.
As at Tuesday (23rd, March 2021), the public health agency recorded one (1) COVID-19-related deaths, leaving the total fatalities in Nigeria to 2,031 deaths.
The NCDC made this know in an update via its official Twitter handle @NCDCgov, said
the The 214 new cases are reported from 12 states- Adamawa (109), Lagos (33), Bauchi (26), Kaduna (9), Rivers (9), FCT (7), Oyo (7), Gombe (5), Ebonyi (4), Osun (3), Ekiti (1), and Ogun (1)
It added that with the new cases, the total number of confirmed infections since the outbreak of the pandemic in the country had risen to 162,082 confirmed cases, out of which 148,530 had been discharged
The Public Health Agency aslo noted that it has also recorded 157 community recoveries in Bauchi State, 121 in FCT and 55 in Lagos State managed in line with guidelines
The NCDC said that there were now 11,521 active cases across the country in the last 24 hours and it has so far carried out sample test on 1,727,467 persons since the outbreak of the infection last year.
It also said that a multi-sector national Emergency Operations Centre (EOC), activated at Level 3, is coordinating response activities Nationwide.
