Several persons have been injured and houses destroyed following a recent communal clash between Anaku and Omor Communities of Ayamelum Local Government Area of Anambra State.
It was learnt that the clash which ensued between the two agrarian communities sharing a boundary, followed a dispute over a land which both communities claim ownership.
An eyewitness who spoke to Radio Nigeria, Mr. Mike Nebife from Omor narrated that the Local Government Chairman had resolved the dispute last year in their favour and expressed shock over the latest development.
He alleged that on Friday, people from Anaku invaded the said land, erected beacons and attacked 2 farmers.
He said later, the people from Anaku allegedly blocked the road, destroyed houses and injuring more people including a former Chief Justice of Anambra State.


President-General of Anaku, Mr. Friday Nwuba also alleged that the people of Omor invaded the community on Sunday morning destroying houses, while some people were feared dead. He appealed for urgent security reinforcement.
When contacted, The Police Public Relations Officer in Anambra State, Mr Tochi Ikenga, said the command had deployed a team of policemen and that orderliness have been restored to the area.
