Borno State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has accused Kashim Ibrahim Imam of working against the leadership of the newly elected and constituted state executive council of the party in the state, threatening to take legal action against him in competent court of law.
The ADC also called him to order and to desist from making attempt to hijack the party leadership and structure without the consent and general support of the members and leaders
The State Chairman of the ADC, Alhaji Umar Bolori who stated this on Monday evening at a press conference with journalists in Maiduguri, threatened to drag Imam to court to seek redress over the leadership, control and management of the party in Borno State.

He further explained that Kashim Ibrahim Imam’s position as the head of a coalition within the party does not constitutionally give him the authority or guarantee the right to take over the party or act in its name without proper consultation, engagement, or liaison with other members and leaders of the party.
The State Chairman also condemned the alleged transition committee inaugurated by Kashim Ibrahim Imam without the knowledge or approval of the party’s leadership, describing the action as null and void, unacceptable, and unconstitutional.
He vowed to pursue the matter to any extent necessary to ensure justice, fairness, and inclusiveness in the management of the party’s affairs in the state, as part of efforts to challenge and ultimately dislodge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2007 elections.
Bolori warned that any attempt by anyone, regardless of status or influence, to hijack the party from its duly elected leadership would not be tolerated. He stressed that the party operates under established rules, regulations, and a guiding constitution, which must be respected and obeyed by all members committed to the growth and development of the party in Borno State and across Nigeria.
He also emphasized that the leadership’s primary objective is to ensure that all party members are fully carried along in all decisions and processes, in line with the overall and collective interest of the party.
