A Muslim organization, known as Ansar-ud-Deen Society of Nigeria (ADS) Maiduguri Branch, Borno State has elected new executive members members to run the affair of the organization for the next three years.
According to ADS, the strict compliance with the rules and regulations provided in their constitution guided the processes and peaceful conduct of the election.
Declaring the election as the first of its kind in the history of ADS in Borno, the Chairman of the Electoral Committee, 2021, Malam Nurudeen Abdulganiyu Adeyemi, said the election which was conducted peacefully and transparently under the strict supervision and monitoring of elders and leaders of ADS in the state, had Abdulyekin Yusuf as Chairman elect, Mikail Adrbayo as Vice Chairman and Kassim Adeyemi as Secretary.
Others that emerged winners at the election include: Taofeef Olunloyo as First Assistant Secretary, Mohammed Afolabi as Second Assistant Secretary, Abdulrasheed Shehu as Financial Secretary, Hussaini Yusuf as Education Secretary, Dr. Abdulrahman Yusuf as Health Secretary and Akeem Akande as Publicity Secretary.
The Electoral Committee Chairman further expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the elders, Candidates and members of the society for their support, cooperation and understanding through out the pre-electoral, electoral and post electoral process.
In his remarks, the newly elected Chairman of ADS Maiduguri, Malam Yusuf who thanked all the members for finding him worthy and electing him as their chairman, also promised to carry all and sundry on board in steering the affairs of the society for the next three years.
He also pledged to do his best at all times to unite the members and ensure peace and unity prevail among members as well as other associations and ethnic groups in the state and country at large.
Malam Yusuf assured the members that with the support and cooperation of his members, he would do everything possible within his reach and capacity to develop and promote the society existence.
