ARMSTRONG ALLAHMAGANI, Bauchi-
An Islamic Organisation, Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah Wa’ikamatis Sunnah (JIBWIS) has stated that the “pull-him-down war” being waged against Dr. Isa Pantami, the Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, was being targeted at the President Muhammadu Buhari.
In a statement, The Bauchi State Chairman, JIBWIS, Barr. Garba Hassan noted that those who are bent on removing Pantami from office are the known and unknown enemies of Buhari who are doing it out of deep hatred and grudge against him.
According to him: “We observe with dismay that the pull-him-down war being waged against Dr. Pantami in his current position as a senior member of President Buhari’s cabinet is nothing other than pursuit of the sheer hatred, grudge and ill-will being nursed against the President himself by both known and hidden enemies of the administration who have, from the word go, never missed any opportunity to express negative, low and mischievous opinion about the government to the extent of openly supporting agitations and attempts to bring the whole system down”.
“So basically, the present campaign of calumny, blackmail and hatred against the truly patriotic, performing and responsible Dr. Isa Ali Pantami is actually in furtherance of the agenda hatched long ago to do everything possible to discredit the present administration,” he stated.
Hassan added that the “known and unknown enemies” depict the Buhari’s administration in negative light and belittle its efforts especially in the eyes of the international community by using every issue including raising matters that have never been of any moment which is what the Honourable Minister’s said.
He said that past views are considering the fact that even after expressing the opinion that is now subject of national attention, his subsequent actions in a consistent manner, has been to support and contribute to the fight against terrorism and all other forms of crime in any part of the world.
He pleaded with the Federal Government to take action against persons with “questionable character who have never hidden their desire to see the failure and disintegration of Nigeria.”
The JIBWIS Chairman added: “We call on the Federal Government and security agencies to double their efforts in the area of confronting the various security challenges being faced by the country. Issues having to do with intelligence gathering should be accorded serious attention.”
