Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Agric 360 Innovation, Mr. Roland Tyonongu,
A new digital agriculture initiative aimed at improving food security, creating jobs and transforming farming through technology will be officially launched in Makurdi, Benue State, on October 30, 2026.
The Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Agric 360 Innovation, Mr. Roland Tyonongu, disclosed this in an interview with NATIONAL ACCORD, saying the platform was developed to address major challenges facing agriculture in Nigeria and across the world.
Tyonongu said Agric 360 is designed to benefit not only farmers in Benue State and Nigeria but also farmers globally through technology-driven solutions that improve agricultural planning, productivity and service delivery.
He explained that the platform offers solutions in food security, agricultural data management and digital support for government programmes at the federal, state and local government levels.
According to him, the initiative will also create employment opportunities for young Nigerians, revealing that more than 1,000 youths are expected to be engaged even before the official launch.
He urged governments, development organisations, financial institutions, farmers and other stakeholders in the agricultural sector to embrace the initiative, expressing confidence that the platform would deliver lasting value.
Tyonongu described Agric 360 as “the national agricultural infrastructure,” saying the organisation has spent the last five years quietly developing the platform before introducing it to the public.
Explaining the problem the innovation seeks to solve, he said: “Farmers are repeatedly registered for different programmes, organizations maintain separate data bases, field activities are difficult to track and institutions often lack reliable visibility into what is happening and every new programme can end up starting almost from zero.”
He said Agric 360 was created to remove these challenges by providing a unified digital system for the sector.
According to him, “Agric 360 has been built as a digital backbone for agriculture to connect farmers, field and service operators, agricultural programmes and institutions through a shared digital environment.”
The Agric 360 founder also called on policymakers, government agencies, development partners, private organisations and farmers to support the initiative, stressing that widespread adoption of the platform would unlock significant benefits for the agricultural sector.
Agriculture remains one of Nigeria’s largest employers and a major contributor to the country’s economy. Experts have repeatedly identified poor data management, fragmented farmer records and weak coordination among stakeholders as key obstacles to achieving sustainable food security. Digital platforms such as Agric 360 are increasingly seen as important tools for improving planning, transparency, productivity and access to agricultural services.
