The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has registered 360 new cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19), bringing the total number of infections in the country to 156017.
As at Monday (1st, March 2021), the public health agency also recorded eight (8) new COVID-19-related deaths, raising the total fatalities in Nigeria to 1915 deaths.
The NCDC made this know in an update via its official Twitter handle @NCDCgov.
It added that with the new cases, the total number of confirmed infections since the outbreak of the pandemic in the country had risen to 156,017 confirmed cases, out of which 133,904 had been discharged.
The public health agency noted that the new infections were reported in 19 states, including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The 360 new cases are reported from 19 states- Lagos (120), Edo (38), Kaduna (25), FCT (23),Imo (23), Delta (19), Akwa Ibom (17),Plateau (17) Rivers (16) Nasarawa (15), Kwara (13), Oyo (9), Ogun (8), Bauchi (4), Osun (4), Kano (3), Kebbi (3), Niger (2) and Katsina (1).
The NCDC stated that 151 people have been discharged from the various isolation centres in the last 24 hours.
The health agency noted that those discharged on Monday included 81 community recoveries in Lagos State and 70 in the FCT managed in line with guidelines.
It also said that a multi-sector national Emergency Operations Centre (EOC), activated at Level 3, is coordinating response activities nationwide.
The NCDC said that there were now 19,613 active cases across the country in the last 24 hours. (NCDC)
