African richest man, Aliko Dangote and Afrobeat star, Davido
Afrobeats superstar, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has joined billionaire businessman Aliko Dangote in promoting the ongoing effort to make Nigerians part owners of the Dangote Petroleum Refinery through its public offering.
Davido shared a video on his official X account on Thursday showing a conversation with Dangote, the President and Chief Executive of Dangote Group, about the refinery’s Initial Public Offering (IPO), which has been described as “The IPO for the People.”
The singer said the meeting brought together two generations of Nigerian ambition, with Dangote providing insight into how ordinary Nigerians can participate in the ownership journey.

“Davido has questions. Our President & Chief Executive, Aliko Dangote, has answers.”
He added: “When two generations of Nigerian ambition meet, the conversation is worth listening to.”
The conversation focused on the opportunities available through the Dangote Petroleum Refinery IPO and how Nigerians can become shareholders in one of the country’s biggest industrial projects.

The refinery’s public offer is part of Dangote’s broader plan to expand ownership beyond private investors and allow Nigerians to benefit from the growth of the facility. The initiative has been promoted as a way of democratising wealth creation by giving eligible investors an opportunity to own shares in the company.
Dangote has previously explained that the goal of the IPO is not only about raising funds but also about allowing more Nigerians to participate in the value created by the refinery.
The Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals public offer provides investors with access to shares in the company through approved investment channels. The official IPO platform advises prospective investors to understand the offer details and use approved subscription platforms.

As part of efforts to make participation easier, Nigerians can also access the NGX Invest platform through WhatsApp by sending “INVEST” to +234 812 731 9521 and following the required steps.
The collaboration between Davido and Dangote reflects a growing push to encourage more Nigerians, especially young people, to take interest in investment, capital markets and wealth creation.
Through the campaign, the message is that Nigerians do not have to remain only consumers of major businesses but can also become part of their ownership story.
