Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Kaduna State has informed road users about a temporary traffic diversion along the Kaduna–Zaria expressway, specifically around KM 49, Gwaranza Village.
This announcement was made in a statement released on Saturday by the Sector Commander, Corps Commander (CC) Tijjani Iliyasu, in Kaduna.
According to Iliyasu, “This is to notify the motoring public, particularly motorists that ply the Kaduna–Zaria route, that there will be a temporary diversion of traffic at KM 49 Gwaranza Village along the Kaduna–Zaria expressway.”
He explained that the diversion is necessary to allow construction work on an overpass being built at the location as part of the ongoing Kaduna–Kano Standard Gauge Rail Line Project.
The traffic diversion is scheduled to begin on November 1 and will remain in effect until further notice.
Iliyasu advised motorists to pay close attention to traffic signs, cooperate with FRSC personnel on duty, and maintain reduced speeds while approaching the construction area.
He also appealed for caution, stressing that safety remains the Corps’ top priority.
“Motorists are urged to reduce speed and drive with extreme caution when approaching the location,” he added.
For emergencies, Iliyasu encouraged road users to reach the FRSC through its toll-free line 122 or by calling 0913 960 1839.
