The Senator representing Kaduna South Senatorial District, Sunday Marshall Katung, has inspected the ongoing construction of a 700-seater Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Centre in Zonkwa, Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Katung, who inspected the project over the weekend, urged the contractors handling the facility to strictly adhere to the contractual specifications and complete the project within the stipulated 12-month timeframe.
He said the ICT centre was conceived to provide young people, particularly students across the area, with access to modern computer facilities and digital learning opportunities.
According to him, the facility, when completed, would provide an enabling environment for students and other young people in Kaduna South Senatorial District and beyond to acquire relevant ICT skills and improve their competitiveness in an increasingly technology-driven economy.
The senator expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of work at the project site, but charged the contractors to sustain the standard and ensure that every component of the facility was delivered according to the approved specifications.
He said the project was part of his efforts to attract meaningful development interventions to Kaduna South, particularly in areas capable of improving the educational and economic prospects of young people in the district.
Katung also called on the people of Kaduna South to continue supporting the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the development agenda of Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani.
He noted that the cooperation and support of citizens remained critical to the successful implementation and sustainability of development projects across the state.
Conducting the senator and his entourage round the project site, the Site Engineer, Builder Aaron Haruna Daniel, said the completed facility would rank among the biggest ICT centres of its kind in the country.
Daniel assured the senator that the contractors would deliver a quality facility that meets the required standards within the stipulated timeframe.
The inspection formed part of Katung’s ongoing monitoring of development projects facilitated for the benefit of constituents across Kaduna South Senatorial District.
