Kogi State Government has announced the death of Alhaji Ahmed Momohsani Ododo, the father of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, who passed away at the age of 83.
The sad news was confirmed by the state’s Commissioner for Information and Communication, Kingsley Fanwo, in a statement issued on Monday in Lokoja.
Fanwo noted that the revered patriarch passed away earlier that day. “Inna Lillahi Wa Inna Ilayhi Raji’un,” he recited, invoking the Islamic prayer for the departed.
He added that the Janazah (funeral) would be performed and the deceased laid to rest in accordance with Islamic traditions.
“We beseech Almighty Allah (SWT) to pardon his shortcomings, accept his virtuous deeds, and admit him into Al-Jannah Firdaus,” Fanwo prayed.
He also extended heartfelt prayers for strength and resilience for Governor Ododo, his family, and the entire Ododo household as they navigate this profound loss.
