The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Tuesday announced that it has registered 44 new cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19), bringing the total number of infections in the country to 163,837 confirmed cases.
As at Monday, 12 April, 2021, the public health agency recorded one (1) COVID-19-related deaths, leaving the total fatalities in Nigeria to 2,061 deaths.
The NCDC made this know in an update via its official Twitter handle @NCDCgov, noting that 84 new cases were reported from 5 states, including: – Enugu (22), Lagos (15), FCT (4), Osun (2), and Kaduna (1)
It added that with the new cases, the total number of confirmed infections since the outbreak of the pandemic in the country had risen to 163,837 confirmed cases, out of which 154,177 had been discharged.
The NCDC said that there were now 7,599 active cases across the country in the last 24 hours and it has so far carried out sample test on 1,838,174 persons infection last year.
It also said that a multi-sector national Emergency Operations Centre (EOC), activated at Level 3, is coordinating response activities Nationwide.
