Managing Director of the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF), Barrister. Oluwaseun Faleye
Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) has warned Nigerians against fake recruitment adverts and appointment letters being circulated by fraudsters seeking to deceive job seekers.
The warning followed the circulation of recruitment adverts on social media, particularly Facebook, falsely claiming to offer employment opportunities with the Fund.
In a public notice contained in a memorandum dated October 5, 2026, and signed by the Executive Director, Administration, Samaila Abdu, Esq., NSITF said it is not currently recruiting for any position.
The Fund said some individuals and groups were falsely presenting themselves as NSITF representatives and using the fake offers to target members of the public.
NSITF urged Nigerians not to respond to such adverts or pay anyone for a job, stressing that it does not charge any fee for employment.
It also said recruitment announcements, whenever there is an opening, will be made through its official communication channels and not through unofficial social media accounts or other unauthorised platforms.
“Stay alert, stay safe,” the Fund said, urging anyone who encounters a suspicious recruitment advert or request to report it to the appropriate NSITF authorities.
The warning is particularly important for job seekers, who could lose money or expose their personal information while trying to secure employment through fake offers.
To ensure the warning reaches more people, NSITF management directed all Regional and Branch Managers to immediately display the notice at strategic locations in their offices.
The directive covers reception areas, entrances and exits, notice boards, SERVICOM desks and other places where staff and members of the public can easily see it.
The Fund urged Nigerians to verify any claim of recruitment through its official channels before providing personal details, making payments or taking any further step.
