Senator Ali Ndume
Ahead of the Sallah celebrations, Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume, representing Borno South Senatorial District, has reinforced his longstanding support for frontline military personnel by donating twenty bulls to troops across the district, including the Theatre Command and the Seven Division at the Maimalari Military Cantonment.
The gesture extends to military formations stationed in Ngoshe, Kirawa, Izge, Gwoza, Uba, Chibok, Damboa, and Biu—areas that remain critical in the ongoing fight against insurgency. Known for his deep-rooted connection to the military community, Ndume, who grew up around military barracks, has made it a tradition to stand by troops during festive periods, whether Sallah or Christmas.
He emphasized that the sacrifices, resilience, and patriotism of the armed forces go far beyond what words can capture, noting that their commitment continues to safeguard lives and restore stability across the region.
“On behalf of myself and the good people of Southern Borno, I wish all our gallant military personnel a peaceful and fulfilling Sallah celebration,” the senator stated.
Beyond the donation, Ndume used the opportunity to call on the general public—particularly residents of Southern Borno—to remain vigilant, avoid vulnerable routes, and cooperate with security agencies. He stressed that security is a collective responsibility and urged citizens to support ongoing efforts to consolidate peace in the region.
