Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Monday joined President of the Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, at the Nigerian Exchange Group (NGX) in Lagos for the official opening of the Dangote Petroleum Refinery Initial Public Offering (IPO).
The governor described the event as another milestone for Nigeria’s economy and said it reflects the progress Lagos is making in attracting businesses and investments.
Sharing his thoughts after the event, Sanwo-Olu said, “Today, I joined Alhaji Aliko Dangote at the Nigerian Exchange Group in Lagos for the opening of the Dangote Petroleum Refinery IPO.”
He said the occasion highlights the vision of building a state where businesses can flourish and investors can access new opportunities.

According to him, “Today reinforces what we are building in Lagos. A city where businesses can grow, a city where investors can find opportunity and a city where major investments can take root. We remain committed to making it easier to do business in our state and strengthening our position as Nigeria’s leading investment destination.”
Sanwo-Olu also noted that the public offering marks a historic achievement for Nigeria’s capital market.
He stated, “The listing of the Dangote Refinery, the first refinery to be offered on the Nigerian Exchange in its 66-year history, is another important step for our capital market and our economy.”
The governor assured investors and businesses that his administration would continue to promote policies that encourage economic growth and private sector investments.
“Our promise is to continue to create the environment for more investments, more businesses and more opportunities to thrive in Lagos,” he added.
The Dangote Petroleum Refinery IPO is expected to widen investment opportunities in Nigeria’s capital market while giving more investors the chance to own shares in Africa’s largest refinery.
