Director-General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, Senator Abdulazeez Yari, has disclosed that he met with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Lagos to review preparations for the party’s 2027 campaign.
Yari made this known in a post on his verified X account on Thursday, where he said he visited the President alongside his son, Ahmad.
According to him, the meeting focused on strengthening the APC and ensuring the party remains united ahead of the next general election.
> “In Lagos, alongside my son Ahmad, I met with His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.

> “We spoke at length about how preparations for the campaign are coming along and what it will take to keep our party strong and united ahead of 2027.
> “Above all, our focus remains on the Nigerian people and on earning their continued trust in the work we are doing together.
> “Happy 66th Independence Anniversary, Nigeria.”
The former Zamfara State governor did not disclose further details of the discussions, but his comments highlighted the APC leadership’s early efforts to strengthen the party ahead of the 2027 elections.

Yari currently serves as the Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council and has remained one of the key political allies of President Tinubu. He has repeatedly pledged support for the administration’s Renewed Hope agenda and the party’s political programmes.
The meeting also came as Nigeria marked its 66th Independence Anniversary, with political leaders across the country reflecting on the nation’s progress while expressing hope for greater unity, development and improved living conditions for Nigerians.
