By PAUL ADAJI, Abuja –
The Tiv professional women Initiative (TIPWIN), has expressed serious concern over the spate of killings across Benue State and the entire country.
TIPWIN in a statement by its President, Mrs Grace Aondoakaa and the Secretary, Theresa Jagusa, particularly condemned the recent murder of the proprietor of Ashi Polytechnic, Anyiin in Logo local government area of Benue, Dr.Terkula Suswam, describing the incident as sad and unacceptable.
The group therefore appealed to the Benue State Government and the Tiv Traditional Council to look into the killings, which are capable of hampering peace and development in the state.
According to TIPWIN, “it is unacceptable the gruesome killing of Dr Terkura Suswam, the elder brother of Senator Gabriel Suswam, who was murdered in cold blooded in his Anyiin residence about two weeks ago.”
While calling on the Mzough-U-Tiv (the highest traditional rulling body in Tivland) to look into the killings across Benue, TIPWIN also appeal to the federal government to appraise the security situation in the country and wipe out criminal elements and apprehend the perpetrators of the killings for prosecution.
TIPWIN is an body of Tiv women Non- governmental organization established to assist the less privileged and the vulnerable groups in Benue and Nigeria in general.
TOR TIV, Professor James Ayatse.
