Lagos State Police Command has uncovered a suspected high-tech indoor cannabis farm hidden inside a residential property in Apapa area of the state, following an intelligence-led operation.
The discovery was made on November 2, 2026, after police operatives received credible information about activities suspected to be linked to illegal drug cultivation at the location.
Acting on the intelligence, operatives of the Command searched the property and discovered a sophisticated indoor farming facility allegedly designed for the cultivation, harvesting and processing of substances suspected to be cannabis.
The facility was reportedly equipped with technology and materials used for controlled indoor farming, indicating the level of planning behind the operation.
Two suspects were arrested during the raid. They were identified as Thomas Razvickas, a 49-year-old Polish national, and James Chisome, a 36-year-old Nigerian, both of whom reside at the searched address.
The Lagos Police Command said the suspects are currently in custody and have provided statements to investigators as efforts continue to uncover more details about the alleged operation.
The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, visited the scene to inspect the discovered facility and receive updates from investigators handling the case.
The police boss commended the officers involved in the operation, describing the discovery as a result of effective intelligence gathering and proactive policing.
He said the Command remained committed to dismantling criminal networks and ensuring that Lagos State does not become a safe haven for drug-related activities.
The police also acknowledged the support of residents who provide useful information, urging members of the public to continue reporting suspicious activities within their communities.
The latest development adds to ongoing efforts by security agencies to tackle illegal drug production and distribution, which authorities say remain a major threat to public safety and youth development.
The Lagos Police Command assured residents that investigations into the discovered indoor cannabis farm would continue, with further updates expected as the case progresses.
