Two men, Emeka Daniel and Ugochukwu Eze, were arraigned before a Magistrates’ Court in Ikeja, Lagos State, for allegedly importing fake condoms into Nigeria.
The defendants pleaded not guilty to the three-count charge of conspiracy, forgery, and perversion of justice.
The Prosecutor, SP Josephine Ikhayere, alleged that the defendants and others at large imported fake Kiss condoms into the country, selling them without regard for the potential harm to users.
She stated that the offence is contrary to the provisions of the Lagos State Criminal Law, 2015.
The Magistrate, Mr. Lafeef A. Owolabi, granted the defendants bail in the sum of ₦500,000 with two reliable sureties in like sum. The case was adjourned until August 21 for mention.
