Arsenal came from behind to secure a 2-1 victory over Chelsea in an entertaining English Premier League (EPL) clash at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.
Chelsea made a dream start when Morgan Rogers fired the visitors ahead less than two minutes into the game.
The Gunners responded strongly and drew level in the 25th minute through former Chelsea forward Kai Havertz.
Arsenal completed the comeback early in the second half after Martin Odegaard calmly finished a well-worked team move.
The victory gives Mikel Arteta’s side three wins from their opening three Premier League matches. Arsenal’s disciplined display also ended Chelsea’s unbeaten start to the new league campaign.
Christos Tzolis played a key role in the winning goal with an excellent pass that opened up Chelsea’s defence. Chelsea pushed for an equaliser late on, but David Raya produced important saves to preserve Arsenal’s lead.
The defeat was Xabi Alonso’s first league loss as Chelsea manager and exposed defensive weaknesses in his team.
Arsenal’s latest win strengthens their early title credentials as they continue their perfect start to the Premier League season.
