BALLON D’OR organisers have shortlisted five clubs for the 2026 Men’s Club of the Year award, with Norwegian side FK Bodo/Glimt emerging as the surprise name on a list dominated by European heavyweights.
Paris Saint-Germain, Arsenal and Bayern Munich headline the nominees, while Brazil’s Flamengo and Bodo/Glimt complete the five-club shortlist.
The nominees were announced Monday through the official Ballon D’Or channels.
Bodo/Glimt’s inclusion is particularly notable, with the Norwegian club becoming the first from the country to earn a nomination for the award.
Flamengo, meanwhile, are the only non-European club in contention.
PSG’s nomination follows a season in which the French champions won Ligue 1 and reached the Champions League final, while Arsenal finished second in the Premier League and Bayern retained the Bundesliga title.
Flamengo earned their place after winning the Copa Libertadores, while Bodo/Glimt combined another Norwegian league title with an impressive run to the Europa League semi-finals.
The Club of the Year award recognises the men’s team judged to have produced the strongest overall season, with trophies and results forming the basis of the selection.
The winner will be announced at the 70th Ballon D’Or ceremony on Monday, October 26, 2026, in London.
The ceremony will break with tradition by being held outside Paris for the first time, as organisers mark the award’s 70th anniversary with a tribute to its inaugural winner, Sir Stanley Matthews.
