Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has appointed Samaila Burga, as his Principal Private Secretary.
Recall that the governor on Tuesday, sent to the Bauchi State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation, the names of 17 commissioner-nominees including former persons who served in his cabinet for about two years before he dissolved it three months ago.
But on Wednesday, the governor however, wrote to the Assembly withdrawing Burga’s name, a Pharmacist, from the nominees without giving any reason for doing so.
The appointment of Burga, who hails from Tafawa Balewa local government area of the state, was contained in a letter personally signed by the governor dated 19th August, 2021 and sighted by our Correspondent.
The governor said that his appointment, which is with immediate effect, was because of his wealth of experience, dedication, hard work and track record.
The letter reads: “I am pleased to convey my approval for your appointment as Principal Private Secretary to His Excellency the Governor.
“The appointment is informed by your track record of sincerity, hard work, dedication, exemplary behaviour and above all your wealth of experience and sense of responsibility.
“I would expect that you would utilize these qualities in facing the challenges of your new office so as to facilitate the attainment of our collective vision and goals of bringing about positive change and new lease of life to the people of Bauchi State.
“Your remuneration will be based on the existing Government Circular and other relevant rules of the public Service as may be amended from time to time.
“While congratulating you on this well-deserved appointment, I wish to request you to indicate your acceptance of this appointment or otherwise to enable continuation with further necessary action.”
The governor advised him to declare his assets at the Code of Conduct Bureau, Bauchi Office, in fulfilment of the Constitutional requirement on or before assumption of office.
