The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Wednesday announced that there were now 1,377 active cases across the country in the last 24 hours.
The public health agency made this know in an update via its official website: www.ncdc.gov.ng, adding that it has so far carried out sample test on 2,266,591 persons since the outbreak of the pandemic, last year.
NCDC also report that it has recorded 39 new cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19), bringing the total numbers of infections in the country to 167,331 confirmed cases.
As at Tuesday, 22 June, 2021, NCDC said it recorded no COVID-19-related deaths in the last 24 hours, leaving the total fatalities in Nigeria to 2,118 deaths.
The 39 new cases were reported from 6 states, including: – Lagos (17), Borno (7), Ondo (6), Rivers (5), FCT (3) and Kaduna (1).
It added that with the new cases, the total numbers of confirmed infections since the outbreak of the pandemic in the country had risen to 167,331 cases, out of which 163,913 Covid-19 patients have been discharged.
It also said that a multi-sector national Emergency Operations Centre (EOC), activated at Level 3, is coordinating response activities Nationwide.
