Director General of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Mrs. Zubaida Umar, today attended the 2nd National Gender Inclusion Conference, held at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The conference, organised by the Office of the Technical Advisor to the President on Economic and Financial Inclusion, had the theme: _“Designing for Delivery: Financial Systems and Scale for Women’s Economic Transformation.”_
The high-level conference brought together senior government officials, policymakers, development partners and other stakeholders to advance conversations and practical strategies for strengthening gender inclusion, expanding women’s access to economic opportunities and promoting sustainable financial systems that support their empowerment.
Among the distinguished personalities at the conference were the Advisor to the President on Special Duties, Dr. Aliyu Modibbo, who represented the Vice President; the Honourable Minister of Women Affairs, Mrs. Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim; and the Deputy Chief of Staff to the President, Office of the Vice President, Senator Ibrahim Hassan Hadejia, among others.
The participation of the Director General of NEMA underscores the Agency’s recognition of the importance of inclusive approaches in disaster risk management, particularly in strengthening the resilience and economic recovery of women and other vulnerable groups affected by disasters.
