A major political shake-up has hit Osun State as Senator Francis Fadahunsi, representing Osun East, has announced his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
In a letter dated June 12, Fadahunsi cited irreconcilable differences and unresolved legal crises within the party as the reason for his departure.
Fadahunsi stated, “I am resigning my membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with immediate effect, due to the irreparable, irreconcilable differences and protracted legal battles that have bedevilled the party at the national level after the 2023 general elections.”
He added that his decision was taken after consultation with his political associates, family, and friends.
Next Move
The Senator’s Legislative Assistant, Femi Fadipe, confirmed the resignation and revealed that Fadahunsi had tried his best to keep the party going but with no success.
Fadipe hinted that the lawmaker and his supporters would announce their next move soon, leaving many to speculate about Fadahunsi’s future plans.
