The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Chairman, Makurdi Local Government Area, Mr. Paul Tion has emphasized his readiness to reclaim Makurdi from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC)
Speaking during the official take over of the affairs of the party in Makurdi, the Chairman informed that they were fully prepared to wrestle power from the ruling party.
The Chairman lamented that the APC led government in the country has brought untold hardship in the country and expressed the belief that PDP would reclaim power beginning at the local government and Makurdi would certainly lead in demonstrating that the ruling party is simply punishing Nigerians.
The party chairman, who also bemoaned Senator Gabriel Suswam for leading a faction of the party astray adding that the leader of PDP in the state is Chief Samuel Ortom.
While calling on Senator Suswam and other members of his faction to come back to the main PDP, he noted with hope that if they all come back they would be stronger.
In his remarks, the out gone chairman, Yunusa Garba, urged the new chairman to cooperate and work harmoniously with party members, emphasizing that unity and understanding essential tools for achieving the party’s goals.
Yunusa appreciated the party faithful for their unwavering support during his tenure and expressed confidence in the new leadership to lead the party to greater heights.
Also commenting, the former commissioner in the state, Bernard Uneger thanked the new executive and elders, describing the PDP as authentic, resilient, and poised to win the upcoming elections.
He praised the party for its just commitment to the people, despite numerous challenges and encouraged the new leadership to continue working together, leveraging their collective strength to bring about the change Nigerians desperately need.
