Yobe State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expressed its unwavering support for the party’s Acting National Chairman, Alhaji Iliya Damagum, and the National Working Committee (NWC).
This declaration was made at the end of the party’s expanded executive committee meeting in Damaturu on Saturday.
“We fully align with the vision, policies, and strategic direction of our party,” said the state PDP Chairman, Sen. Umar El-Gash.
“We remain a committed partner in the collective effort to rescue and rebuild Nigeria.”
He emphasized the party’s commitment to unity, peace, and collaboration, urging members to promote these values from the ward to the national level.
The party also debunked rumors suggesting that its structures had collapsed into the African Democratic Congress (ADC), describing such claims as “baseless and mischievous.”
El-Gash attributed these rumors to “political mischief makers” seeking to sow confusion and disunity within the party.
The Yobe PDP has resolved to embark on a massive membership mobilization drive, with a focus on women and youths.
Each local government chapter has been tasked with inaugurating a grassroots campaign to attract new members and re-energize existing structures.
“We will strengthen our mechanisms to ensure compliance with the party’s constitution and code of conduct,” El-Gash said, emphasizing the importance of discipline within the party.
