Borno State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) distributed relief materials to victims of flood and windstorm disasters in Damboa and Chibok Local Government Councils of the state.
The affected areas include Gumsuri, Garjang, and Wovi in Damboa, as well as Mboa Whuntaku and Yarchida villages in Chibok Local Government Area.
Governor Babagana Zulum approved the relief materials, which consisted of cash, food, and non-food items, including bags of rice and maize, wrapped mattresses.
The distribution was led by SEMA Director General, Ali Abdullahi Isa, in the presence of stakeholders, security agencies, and government officials, including the Chairmen of Damboa and Chibok Local Government Areas and members of the House of Assembly representing the areas.
The DG SEMA extended the state’s sympathy to the affected communities and stated that the gesture aimed to provide immediate relief.
Beneficiaries expressed gratitude to Governor Zulum and SEMA for the support.
The DG SEMA thanked the Governor for the prompt approval and prayed for future disaster prevention.
