Managing Director of the Cross River State Water Board, Chief Victor Ekpo
PATRICK ABANG Calabar –
Following his withdrawal from the Senatorial primary election for Cross River Southern Senatorial District, which paved way for Asuquo Ekpeyong (jnr) as Senatorial candidate, the former Managing Director of the Cross River State Water Board, Chief Victor Ekpo, has expressed optimism that the APC governorship candidate in the state will take the party to victory.
Chief Ekpo, who stated this shortly after the declaration of Asuquo Ekpeyong as the Senatorial candidate of the APC, said the party will win all the elections in the state.
He noted that most members of the PDP will defect to the APC and vote for the ruling party because, “Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu is loved by all and I’ve never seen any one so loved like him”.
“I can bet you now, most of the PDP people will defect back to the APC to go and vote for Prince Bassey Otu.
“I commend the state Governor Ben Ayade for taking the decision on Prince Otu not minding Chris Agara who is his friend. I think he went for victory and Prince is the victory.
“Prince Otu is for all and the people voted for him for free, he did not pay any single delegate. They just said he is a man of the people and voted for him.
“I personally would gladly drop my ambition for him because I know he is the man that will take APC to victory come 2023”, Chief Ekpo said.
Speaking on his withdrawal from the Cross River South Senatorial District primaries, Chief Ekpo said he abides by the decision of the party.
He described the party as a vehicle, saying everyone including the passengers have a role to play.
Meanwhile, In Cross River State Central Senatorial District, Speaker Eteng William, has emerged the winner while Ayade Chief of Staff Martin Orim was nominated as the Senatorial candidate for the Northern Senatorial District.
