President Bola Tinubu and Cross River State Governor, Bassey Otu

All Progressives Congress (APC) in Cross River State has endorsed President Bola Tinubu and Governor Bassey Otu for a second term in 2027.
The endorsement was made during a grand reception and “Thank You” rally held at the UJ Esuene Stadium in Calabar.
APC Chairman in Cross River, Mr. Alphonsus Eba, stated that the party has passed a vote of confidence for Tinubu and Otu’s return in 2027.
“Any APC member who comes out to run for the Cross River governorship position against Otu in 2027 will be expelled from the party,” he warned.
Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong praised Tinubu’s achievements as governor of Lagos, noting that his reforms made the city the second-largest economy in Africa, worth $259 billion.
“We endorse you today for a second term because you came into office as the president and stopped the corrupt fuel subsidy regime and exchange rate issues amidst other laudable policies,” he said .
Governor Otu highlighted his administration’s progress, including laying a solid economic foundation and improving security.
“Our economic indices have changed both in terms of addition to our gross domestic product (GDP) and productivity level,” he said.
He also noted that the state has wiped out 15 out of 16 criminal camps and promised to eliminate the remaining one.
Otu mentioned the upcoming Bakassi Deep Seaport construction and the president’s promise to dredge the Calabar channel.
He thanked the party members for their endorsement and pledged to continue working hard in his remaining two years in office.
