No fewer than five states in the southern region would take part in the 2nd edition of the Cross River State Table Tennis Association challenge fiesta with many prizes to be won.
The states include: Bayelsa, Rivers, Akwa-Ibom, Delta
Cross River State Table Tennis Association is to host the 2nd edition of the State Table Tennis Challenge at the U.J Esuene Stadium between Friday and Saturday.
The event is expected to attract over 5,000 Table Tennis enthusiasts from the South – South region.
Speaking during a Courtesy visit to the state Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in her office, Bishop Usen Umoh, the Vice Chairman of Cross River State Table Tennis Association said the objective of the competition is to move young people from vices that would ruined their carrier.
According to Umoh, the intention of the Association is to develop young talent and prepare them for future competition.
In her remarks, the NUJ Chairman assured the Table Tennis Association of her desire to promoting sports in the council.
She stated that she would continue to partner relevant Stakeholders in Sports and would lf continue to encourage sporting activities in the Council.
The Secretary of the State Table Tennis Association, Efiowan Ntioro, gave an assurance that the Table Tennis Association has made the State proud and would not relent in its effort in promoting sports.
