By EZEKIEL OBI, Abuja –
The President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, has categorically denied reports that the Senate proposed purchasing new aircraft for President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima.
“I want to dispel the rumor that you are hearing that the Senate President said he will buy a new plane for the President and his Vice, irrespective of the fact that Nigerians are hungry or whatever. I never said that,” Akpabio clarified during a condolence visit to Senator Tahir Monguno.
Akpabio attributed the false report to “propagandists and fifth columnists” who aim to discredit the Senate’s efforts.
He reassured Nigerians that the Senate is focused on supporting President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda through legislation.
The Senate President expressed satisfaction with the improved security situation in Borno State and urged Nigerians to continue praying for the administration.
“Pray for the government, have patience, and be assured that the combination of Tinubu and Shettima will bring wealth and prosperity to all,” he said.
Akpabio commended President Tinubu’s efforts in restoring peace to Borno State, saying, “I am happy to see that peace has returned to Borno, as a result of the hard work of President Bola Tinubu.”
He encouraged the people of Borno to continue supporting the administration.
