Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani
Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani has applauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing Alhaji Ibrahim Kabir Masari as his Senior Special Assistant on Political Affairs, describing the appointment as a well-deserved recognition of Masari’s integrity and service.
Speaking in Malumfashi, Katsina State, on Sunday, where he served as Special Guest of Honour at the Ibrahim Masari Foundation’s annual cash empowerment programme, Governor Sani said Masari’s reputation for honesty and loyalty made him an asset to the Presidency.
He stated that President Tinubu holds Masari in very high regard, stressing that his contributions are being felt across the country, not only in Katsina State or the North.
According to him, Masari’s humility and generosity have earned him national respect.
The Governor recalled that Masari had made similar donations to indigent citizens last year, adding that the continuation of the programme shows his commitment to uplifting the less privileged.
He urged beneficiaries to use the financial support judiciously to improve their livelihoods.
Governor Sani commended Katsina State Governor, Dr. Umar Dikko Radda, whom he described as a brother and confidant, for supporting the activities of the Ibrahim Masari Foundation and championing grassroots empowerment.
In his remarks, Governor Radda said Katsina State was fortunate to have Masari close to the seat of power, adding that his presence in Aso Rock had facilitated federal appointments, contracts and other dividends of democracy for the State.
He expressed confidence that the All Progressives Congress (APC) would retain its dominance in Katsina, assuring that the people would vote massively for President Tinubu in 2027. He described opposition figures in the State as “noise makers.”
Governor Radda said the APC leadership in the State had embarked on a tour of local government areas to strengthen its bond with the electorate and consolidate the party’s support base ahead of future elections.
Also speaking at the event, the National Chairman of the APC, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, described Masari as both a national and grassroots politician whose actions reflect the party’s principle of people-centered empowerment.
He noted that northern Nigeria, particularly the North-West, remains heavily affected by multidimensional poverty, stressing that Masari’s empowerment initiative was a strategic step toward addressing these socioeconomic challenges.
Prof. Yilwatda commended Governor Radda for fostering unity within the party in Katsina State, expressing confidence that such cohesion would translate into stronger electoral performance in 2027.
As part of its 2025 empowerment programme, the Masari Foundation distributed N300,000 each to 1,000 small business owners across Malumfashi and Kafur Local Government Areas to support entrepreneurship and reduce poverty.
The event was attended by Governors Uba Sani (Kaduna), Inuwa Yahaya (Gombe), Mai Mala Buni (Yobe), and Governor Radda of Katsina, as well as the APC National Chairman, members of the National Working Committee, lawmakers and traditional rulers.
