Kaduna State Police Command has rescued a number of Fulani men, women and children who were abducted by armed men while travelling in commercial buses near Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of the state.
The command said it received credible information from the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Birnin Gwari Branch, that the victims had been intercepted and abducted by unidentified armed men wielding AK-47 rifles and other sophisticated weapons.
According to the police, the assailants took the victims into the forest and concealed them inside a cave located within a mountainous area after abducting them from the commercial buses.
Following the report, the police said a crack team from the Birnin Gwari Area Command was immediately deployed to the location to rescue the victims and apprehend the perpetrators.
