Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced the restoration of electricity supply following the successful completion of a planned maintenance operation at the 132/33kV Apo Transmission Substation in Abuja.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the company said electricity was fully restored at 4:08 p.m. after engineers completed repair works that required a temporary shutdown of the transmission facility.
According to TCN, the planned outage was necessary to enable technical teams address a fault affecting Apo Lines 1 and 2 between Towers T130 and T132.
The company disclosed that the maintenance exercise included the successful latching of the Optical Ground Wire (OPGW) on the two 132kV Apo transmission lines, paving the way for the restoration of normal power supply.
“The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) wishes to inform the public that power supply was successfully restored at 4:08 p.m. today, Sunday, 6th September 2026, following a planned outage at the 132/33kV Apo Transmission Substation,” the statement said.
It added that, “Following the successful completion of OPGW latching on the 2x132kV Apo Transmission lines, power supply has now been fully restored.”
TCN expressed appreciation to customers who experienced temporary service disruption during the maintenance exercise, thanking them for their patience and cooperation.
The company reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s electricity transmission infrastructure, stating that it remains focused on maintaining “a reliable and efficient transmission network for improved electricity supply.”
