Former Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal
Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has expressed deep sorrow over the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) aircraft crash in Igbokoda, Ondo State, describing the incident as a national tragedy.
Tambuwal, who represents Sokoto South Senatorial District and is a chieftain of the opposition African Democratic Congress (ADC), condoled with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Minister of Defence, the Chief of Defence Staff, the Chief of the Air Staff and the entire Armed Forces of Nigeria over the loss of lives.
The former Speaker of the 7th National Assembly and immediate past governor of Sokoto State expressed his condolences in a message shared on his X handle, saying the crash was a painful loss to the entire nation.
He extended his sympathy to the families, friends and colleagues of the personnel and passengers who lost their lives, acknowledging the grief caused by the tragic incident.
“Behind each life lost is a family whose world has changed forever. No words can ease the anguish of such a sudden separation,” Tambuwal said.
The senator noted that the sacrifices and services of the fallen personnel would remain remembered in the history of Nigeria, adding that their contributions to the country would not be forgotten.
Tambuwal also called for adequate support and care for the affected families, while urging that ongoing investigations into the crash should be followed with necessary measures to prevent a recurrence.
He assured the bereaved families of his solidarity during the difficult period and prayed for strength and comfort for those mourning the victims.
“May Almighty God grant eternal rest to the departed, comfort their loved ones and give them the strength to bear the irreparable loss,” Tambuwal prayed.
