Manchester United suffered another painful setback after losing 3-0 to Bournemouth at Old Trafford in the Premier League.
The heavy defeat stretched United’s winless run to eight matches and increased the pressure on manager Michael Carrick.
Bournemouth looked the better side from the start and created several early scoring chances. Their breakthrough came when Rayan volleyed home from Justin Kluivert’s well-placed free-kick.
Marcus Tavernier made it 2-0 before the break after Leny Yoro’s slip gifted Bournemouth another opportunity. United failed to respond, with captain Bruno Fernandes left on the bench throughout the match. Evanilson wrapped up the victory in the second half after capitalising on another costly defensive error.
Frustrated home supporters booed their team as another disappointing performance unfolded.
The defeat leaves United in 16th place with just seven points from eight league matches.
Bournemouth, meanwhile, continued their fine form with a fourth consecutive win in all competitions to move up to 13th.
