The Nigerian Air Force Officers’ Wives Association (NAFOWA) on Monday inaugurated the NAFOWA Little Angels school in Bauchi.
NAFOWA National President, Hajiya Hafsat Abubakar, inaugurated the school at the Air Force Base, Bauchi, saying that Little Angels school was established to provide quality education for children.
She said the association established the school to complement the efforts of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) in providing quality education to the children of its personnel and the host community.
Abubakar explained that NAFOWA was focused on providing good education in a safe and secured environment.
“The Association is also focusing primarily on Crèches and Daycare, Kindergarten, nursery schools and Special needs education, with the aim of building a solid educational foundation very early in life,” she said.
The NAFOWA President reiterated that the association was committed to activities targeted at capacity building and adding value to human lives.
“The need to create a conducive learning environment for these little ones is always in the hearts of members of the association, as a stable home front can only increase the operational efficiency of our dear husbands, she added.
Mrs Abubakar, who charged Air officers and other personnel to make good use of the little Angel school and maintain it adequately, appreciated the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, for being a good role model, for his exceptional leadership, as well as his support to NAFOWA and her many humanitarian initiatives.
Earlier, The Chairperson, NAFOWA Special Operations Command, Mrs Jummai Ohwo, reiterated that NAF had all social amenities, but lacked a kindergarten school.
“Personnel families have to travel about 35 km to access this vital stage of learning for their children. Education is the most powerful tool that can make most of our dreams come true, so it is a necessity and investment that must be embraced with the seriousness it deserves,” she said
The Chairperson described the NAFOWA Little Angels, Bauchi, as an L-shaped block housing the Head teacher’s office, Staff Office, 5 classrooms, sickbay, changing room, computer room, toilet facility and a beautiful landscape.
“The school is furnished with modern learning tools and we are indeed looking forward to having children from this school, with proud parents in the nearest future, due to excellent record,” she said (NAN)
