BUA group of companies, makers of BUA Cement has donated school, hospital and other infrastructures worth N230 million to the relocated Gidan Bailu and Gidan Datti communities in Wamakko Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
The gesture which has remained part of their yearly Social Cooperate Responsibility was Presented to Wamakko LGA chairman at the new settlement named Sabon Gidan Bailo by Engineer Yusuf Binji.
Engr. Bunji, who is the Managing Director of BUA Cement, assured that the gesture was a fulfilment of the company’s promise to their host communities.
Giving breakdown of the infrastructure, Engineer Binji said the projects comprised of a school with two blocks of classrooms, administrative block, township mosque and clinic.
Others according to Binji includes – two boreholes, 30 KVA electricity transformer, township electrification installations and cemetery.
Reflecting on the cordial relationship that exist between the host communities and BUA Company in Sokoto State, the Managing Director, commended the locals for their continued support and cooperation.
While reassuring the benefiting communities that the gestures were aimed at complementing the efforts of the Sokoto State Government in improving peoples lives and facilitating conducive environment for the relocated citizens to enjoy all social benefits in their newl place.
Reacting to the gesture, Chairman of Wamakko LGA, Alhaji Halliru Guiwa, thanked the company for the efforts which he described as distinct in history of commercial company activities to their host communities.
Alhaji Guiwa, however, appealed for more in terms of employment of residents especially youths as well as construction and upgrading of more infrastructures in the area.
Speaking on behalf of the communities, the Ward Head of Kalambaina, Sardauna-Abdullahi Ahmad, thanked the company for the efforts and expressed optimism that they would improve the wellbeing of the citizens.
