ARMSTRONG ALLAHMAGANI, Bauchi –
As part of activities to mark the June 12 Democracy Day, the Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has empowered 1,200 women and youths in Zaki and Gamawa Local Government Areas of the state with cars, motorcycles and cash worth N150 million.
The Governor who flagged off the Kaura Economic Empowerment programme (KEEP), said his government is poised to ensuring the welfare of the citizens.
He said that his administration in the past two years embarked on several developmental projects across the state, adding that it was high time the empowerment of the people to began in earnest.

The First Lady of the state, Hajiya Aisha Bala Mohammed said the motorcycles distributed would help convey girls to schools, which she says would increase girls’ enrollment into public schools.

She said that the empowerment program would reduce the rate of divorce in the state, urging husbands to utilize the empowerment items to take care of their wives.
